IndexNow

A protocol for notifying search engines (Bing, Yandex, others) when content changes so they can re-crawl quickly.

IndexNow is a push-based alternative to waiting for crawlers to come back on their own. When a page is created or updated, the site sends a small HTTP request to IndexNow with the URL. Participating engines re-crawl within hours rather than days or weeks.

Google does not currently support IndexNow but Bing, Yandex, and several smaller engines do. For sites where Bing traffic matters (and where AI engines like ChatGPT pull from Bing), IndexNow is worth implementing.
