Long-Tail Keyword
A more specific, less-searched query, typically three or more words. Lower volume but higher conversion intent and less competition.
Long-tail keywords are the queries with low individual search volume but high specificity. "Plumber" is short tail. "Emergency plumber for burst pipe in north Plano on Sunday" is long tail.
For local businesses, long-tail traffic compounds: 100 long-tail keywords each driving 10 monthly visits adds up to 1,000 monthly visits with high conversion intent. The work is identifying and creating content for them.
