Case Study · Computer Repair, Dallas-Fort Worth
The customer asked Gemini. Gemini recommended our client. The job got booked.
June 2026: a homeowner in Lewisville had a bad experience with a national chain, asked Google Gemini who to call instead, and booked Techrepair DFW the same day. Here is the work that made an AI engine confident enough to recommend a local business by name.
The receipt first
Most agencies selling "AI SEO" cannot show you a single customer that an AI engine actually sent them. This one came with a paper trail: the booking arrived through the website funnel, and when the customer was asked how he found the company, the answer was Gemini, after a frustrating run-in with a big-box repair chain. First confirmed AI-assistant-sourced booking on the account.
That is what Generative Engine Optimization is for. Not rankings screenshots. Booked jobs from people who asked an AI who to trust.
What was actually done
- Structured data that proves identity. LocalBusiness schema with consistent name, address, phone, and sameAs links across the site, synced from the live Google Business Profile so the data never drifts.
- AI crawler access, deliberately configured. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended explicitly allowed. An engine that cannot read you cannot cite you.
- llms.txt published. A machine-readable map of the business and its key pages, the emerging standard AI crawlers already read.
- Citation-shaped content. Direct answer blocks at the top of decision pages, FAQ schema, and comparison pages built for exactly the question this customer asked: "who is a good alternative to the big chain?"
- Review velocity on the profile. A 4.8-star Google Business Profile approaching 100 reviews, auto-synced to the site so on-page claims always match reality.
Scored by our own free tool
Run through the same GEO Score scan we offer every visitor, the client site scores 96 out of 100. Run your own site through it and compare. That gap is the audit conversation.
Why this matters for your business
AI assistants strip the referrer most of the time, so these customers show up in your analytics as "direct" traffic, invisible, unattributed, and growing. The businesses winning them are the ones AI engines can read, verify, and quote. That is buildable. We build it.
